BUILDING PERMIT APPLICATION


After the construction loan has closed, Amberwood Homes will then proceed with the following:

A. Survey:
A survey of your new home situated on you lot will be ordered. This is a required and necessary legal document. Amberwood Homes will consult with you to ensure your new home orientation and rough driveway cut are where you specified them to be. After these items have been finalized, the new house is staked out on the lot.

B. Lot Developer Approval:
Once we have obtained the final survey we will provide the developer of the subdivision with several copies of the survey and blueprints for approve. In some cases, the developer may request some minor modifications, and if so, these will be promptly addressed with you. This step is only necessary if the new home is being built in a subdivision.

C. Septic Permit:
If the home requires a septic system, Amberwood Homes will need to apply for a septic permit.

D. Heating & Cooling Calculations:
Energy-efficiency calculations on the heating/cooling system will be completed by the manufacturer of the heating/cooling equipment. This step is necessary to apply for the building permit, because the building inspection department needs to see that the home is in compliance with the Uniform Building Code for the State of Arizona.

E. Application for Building Permit:
When all of the above items have been completed, we will meet with the city to apply for the building permit. The permitting process may take 3 to 4 weeks for approval and the start of construction. In the meantime, we will schedule the footings trenching, and/or basement to be excavated.

F. Application for Electrical/Gas Utilities:
With our assistance, you will need to apply for installation of the electric and gas utilities in your new home.
